Fast Track Process Technology
This exciting, free training in the field of process technology training prepares qualified applicants for entry-level process technician positions in the Houston Gulf Coast area..
The free training is available for those who qualify. Requirements include attending an information session; having a high school diploma or GED; passing a drug and background check; operating the College’s pilot unit; the ability to speak and read English; at least five years of successful job experience; and performing well on various pre-employment assessments.
“Applicants interested in this career path are invited to attend an upcoming information session to be held in early 2009,” said Sherry Jones, Executive Director of the Continuing & Professional Development division. “During this session, they will be exposed to a realistic job preview that includes briefings by representatives from the petrochemical and refinery industry and tours of the plants. This experience will give them a true picture of what it would be like to work at a plant as an operator before the training starts.”
The free training class is scheduled to start in 2009. All training will take place at the San Jacinto College Central campus located at 8060 Spencer Highway in Pasadena.
